Deep wave wigs can either look REALLY good… or turn rough and frizzy ridiculously fast💔 And most times, it’s not just because of the hair itself. The styling method matters A LOT For deep wave wigs, I personally use two different techniques depending on: ✨ the quality of the hair ✨ the final result I’m trying to achieve ✨ and how long I want the curls to last before frizzing up 😭💜 The first method is what I call the clumped definition method. This gives that super bold, juicy, defined curly look most people love 🤗 The curls stay more together, look fuller and more uniform. But because the curls are heavily clumped together, the hair can frizz up faster over time depending on maintenance and hair quality 😭💔 Then there’s the separation method… This one takes WAY more time because I separate the curls more carefully in smaller sections 😭💜 But I’ve noticed this method usually lasts longer before getting rough because: ✨ there’s less friction between curls ✨ less swelling ✨ less tangling overall The hair also tends to have more movement and volume this way 😶💜 And honestly? This is why I always say you cannot style every curly wig the same exact way. Sometimes the technique depends on: ✨ the texture ✨ the density ✨ the quality of the hair ✨ the final look ✨ and even the client’s lifestyle 😭💜 Because if a client wants low maintenance curls, the styling approach may need to change completely. And if the hair quality itself is poor… even the best technique can only do so much😅 This is also why I personally don’t really like the braiding method for deep wave wigs. Not because it’s “wrong” 😭💜 But because once you properly understand curl behavior and definition techniques, styling becomes way easier and more intentional without doing all that extra stress 😃💜 A lot of clean wig finishing really comes down to understanding: what works for the hair, what works for the texture, and what works for the result you’re trying to achieve 😭💜 That’s one of the major things I’ll be teaching inside my Wig Revamp & Styling Mastery Course 💜 If you’d like to properly understand curly texture handling, luxury finishing and cleaner styling techniques… click the link🔗 in my bio to register ✨
