To be fair, Visenya was the eldest and should have been queen regnant. Up until the conquest, we actually don’t know how female inheritance worked for the Targaryens. Everything we know of the east is either ambiguous or explicitly pro-female inheritance. Aegon led their conquest with compromise for the sake of unity first, fire second. Male primogeniture may have been part of the compromise with the faith Aegon made when he was anointed. From the amethyst empress to Rhaena to Rhaenys to Rhaenyra to Daenerys - the lesson is to not pass over the senior female.

Viserys shouldn’t have named his son Aegon if he didn’t want to further hurt Rhaneyra’s claim as his heir. Why did he? 😭 everytime someone is named Aegon, there’s a big possibility of them being king.

I dont personally like this idolisation. Visenya helped Maegor usurp the throne, Visenya is playing the Alicent role but with Daemon's personality instead and none ever brings it up. So for Rhaenyra so glorify her just seems a bit sloppy to me

this confirms for me that viserys was referring to rhaenyra when he said their family already had its Visenya (Scene: Season 1- Aemma is in the bath, telling Viserys that rhaenyra has proclaimed she is to have a sister, named her Visenya and picked the egg for the cradle)

How was rhaena‘s relationship with her aunt visenya targaryen? I’ve heard that visenya was quit cruel to them (the black brides and also the other targaryens) when maegor took the throne. I need more information about this 😭. I can’t find anyone anywhere talking about it. Especially since a lot say that they were quit similar in character.
