@thestomachdoc: Signs of a healthy poop 💩 A healthy bowel movement doesn’t have to be perfect, but here are a few things I look for as a gastroenterologist: ✅ You only need to wipe a few times. ✅ You have a “ghost poop” that slides out easily and barely leaves a mark or residue, as if it was never there. ✅ You’re finished in less than 5 minutes. ✅ You feel completely emptied afterward. ✅ It isn’t painful or sharp when you pass it. ✅ It usually sinks instead of floating. ✅ It doesn’t have an unusually strong odor. ✅ It’s consistently the same shade of brown. ✅ You tend to go around the same time most days. ✅ You have a bowel movement at least once every 3 days (although many healthy people go more often). ✅ You don’t see blood. No single bowel movement tells the whole story, but when your poops are consistently easy to pass, predictable, and comfortable, that’s generally a good sign your digestive system is working the way it should. #poop #constipation
