Become a bar regular somewhere close to your home. Frequent there. Even if you’re not drinking alcohol (maybe mocktails) and just be talkative. Or even picking up a little side job somewhere fun. Met lots of people this way.

Sporting events. Houston Dynamo, Houston Astros and Houston Texans (tailgate for Texans). Rockets games too but I know you can’t do it all. Houston sports bring people together!

You gotta check the houston audubon site for events and show up to a couple of the ones like at the botanic garden or like Herman park etc. there's like a variety of people and you learn about birding and what not. The botanic garden also posts events so those have such a wide range of people too! But Audubon have more people from what I have experienced. Houston birding week is coming and they do an event at a brewery too

Do whatever you like to do, and while you're at those places just strike up conversations with people. There are also so many niche events going on in Houston just look for things that interest you and you will find them and there will be other people there, talk to them. We are friend friendly they will talk back.
