Everyone ranting about how the steam machine is garbage and they won't buy one is so small-minded it's not even funny. The Steam Machine is a proof of concept. It's Valve telling the console makers, "Hey we can provide all the advantages of the console experience to PC gamers with our software." You're going to see "steam machines" coming out from all different manufacturers at all different price points and performance levels. The steam machine is to consoles what the iPhone was to smartphones in the sense that it should really be a reality check for console makers that they need to adapt. If they don't realize what this means for the industry, they are going to slowly die.
