Ecosia/ecogpt only uses 10% less water than regular generative Ai, however it's still generally the same damage on multiple subjects. Generative AI is known to steal personal data and use it in their data bases, use drinkable water, and causes those eho live near Ai data centers to develop health issues or birth still-borns. Ecosia/Ecogpt will only procrastinate the extreme, damaging effects for only a few years later (less than a decade). They still contribute to global warming just as bad as any other generative ai does. Planting trees doesn't solves the water problem nor the carbon emissions, those trees will need drinking water that ai uses to cool down the machines. It's a butterfly effect, if they continue to use water then all those trees they planted will die, causing massive forest degradation. Ecogpt uses fossil fuels, and when fossil fuels are burned up, it releases massive amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the air, which trap heat and causes climate change. Extraction and combustion of fossil fuels also cause severe localized environmental damage, including air pollution, oil spills, and habitat destruction. Dont use generative ai
