Instead of asking your teenager how their day was today, imagine asking them this: Would you read 40 books for $4,000? I can guarantee you that will open up a conversation that is interesting and worthwhile. I decided to do something that not all parents agree with. I decided to pay my kids $100 per book they read. Not just any book. Books that prepare them for adulthood. Books like Atomic Habits and The Psychology of Money that teach finance and personal systems for success. Small books like The Four Agreements and Amusing Ourselves to Death” Big books like Becoming Steve Jobs and Thinking Fast and Slow. Books that had an impact on my life. I watched my brother spiral through addiction for years, ending in his death all at the exact same time I was raising my young family, and I wanted to do something that would give my kids a better chance. If I did nothing they would be outgunned by trillion-dollar algorithms designed to keep them on their phone and scrolling, at the risk of never actually designing their own life. And it's a little silly of me to think I also wouldn’t be outgunned as their parent against those same algorithms. But I knew I had something that those algorithms didn't have. And that was my own willingness to pay them actual dollars for their time and attention away from their phone, to learn frameworks for real-world success. I had a weapon that short-form video and social algorithms could never have and I decided to use it. I organized 40 highly acclaimed battle-tested books and put them in a sequence so that each book would build off of the last. I wrote workbooks for each of these books and a parent's guide for each one, effectively turning each book into a mini-course to help learning stick. And a really cool visual earnings dashboard to keep them engaged. Every time my kid finishes a book, they get $100 - I chose an amount that I felt would stop them in their tracks because as much as I couldn't afford the hundred bucks I also couldn't afford for this not to work. I designed this with my own kids in mind but other parents are using this now too. Your teenager could get through two or three of these books this summer alone. And the first one is completely free. If you click the link in my bio, you can create an account and immediately get access to the workbook and parent's guide for Shoe Dog, which is the story of the creation of Nike. A fantastic read about resilience inside of a brand your kids will recognize. From there we have digital and physical plans available for all 40 books. If you comment the word
