and honestly, that's really weird for medical professionals to take that stance on your stories. they should be well aware that not every medication will have the same effects or side effects for every person

I had a lot of trouble finding medicine that worked well for me so my psychiatrist ordered a genome test to help narrow it down! Everyone reacts differently to medications, it isn't a moral failing.

That medication done the same to my son. And just like your comments - providers ignored my concerns and said I had incorrect Information

Exactly. This is true in general with all medications.

it's wild to me that people do this.
Lidocaine and Novocaine don't work great on me. I have had a lot of dental work done without adequate numbing because "that's just pressure".
Just because it works for *a lot* of people doesn't mean it works for *all* people.

there’s a reason on commercials, they list a whole bunch of really rare reactions to medications. It doesn’t mean it’s definitely gonna happen to you. It just means it has happened.

penicillin makes my throat close, but it can be a life-saving antibiotic for other people. it's not absurd or fear-mongering to point out that medications that have positive impacts on some patients, might have terrifying side-effects on others

a lot of adult psych providers don’t realize that adolescent psych is nothing like their specialty. even acute adolescent psych is completely different from residential

Yes!!! I take Effexor and it works really well for me. Other people have horrible reactions to it. They aren’t wrong for that. It’s how their body processed it. That doesn’t negate that it works for me.

This my Wellbutrin. Mom can take it, sister can take it, BUT it is not an okay medication for me.

That's wild. I've had medications not work for me that worked for others. Our bodies are all different and respond differently. That's not misinformation, that's just the truth. Sorry you had to deal with that.

I have reactions to lots of medications. However, they work well for others! We are all different. Why can’t people realise that things work for one person, but not another. X

Adverse reactions happen denying they happen gets people hurt rather than the medication changes

Sadly, I believe there is a certain type of person who navigate their life actively seeking out
"what is wrong" with absolutely everything and anything , having an incessant need to complain, whine, bitch and moan as well as wanting everyone else to be as miserable as they are!!
It's difficult at times, but ignore, ignore and ignore!!!
