@courtfit_coaching: Are dead bugs more of a core workout or brain workout? 🤣 Fun fact: as awkward as these feel, they’re actually one of the best exercises for teaching your core how to do its job Your core has to stay braced while your arms and legs move, and that carries over to lifting heavier, protecting your lower back, improving your posture, and feeling stronger in all of your lifts 👉🏼 Your core’s job isn’t just to give you abs… it’s to stabilize your entire body, and that’s exactly what dead bugs train!
Unflare your ribs and push your low back into the mat!

I can’t make my back be stuck to the floor, and when I try it hurts. So maybe we’re all different.

no idea if this is wrong but in pt I was taught to keep my back fully on the ground to protect your back and target your core, they would place a towel and pull it and the goal was to not let them pull the towel out while u were doing them! have u heard of that?

Do a big exhale like you’re fogging up a mirror before you start these - that will flatten your back and engage your core ☺️

These comments are annoying lol your back does not need to be flat against the ground. You do need to pull in your ribs and brace your core though, which many people do by putting their back flat on the ground, but you can also do with a neutral spine off the ground but still without arching

aren't you supposed to tilt your pelvis and keep your whole back to the floor? Genuinely curious 🧐 because I just started on my fitness journey a couple of months ago and I always thought that

I use every brain cell to fix my anterior tilt and unflair my ribs to try and keep my core activated through the whole set🤣

It takes all my brain cells too - keep the back flat, keep the pelvis tucked, right leg left arm, left leg right arm, wait which arm did I just do? How many have I done?

Dude please tilt your pelvis and keep your core flex to keep your back flat on the ground. These are actually way harder and good for you when you do them that way.

I’m not a personal trainer, but I think you’re defeating the purpose of a deep core exercise by not having your back completely flat on the floor.
