Heels were invented for men's military use initially (for stirrups)! Eventually women adopted them in the 1600's to appear masculine (which was ill-met, as the men at high courts adored their red heels), and gradually men stopped wearing them midway or at the end of the 1800's because 'ew girls' and now theyre seen as feminine instead. The modern high heel was a 1950's invention to exaggerate the look and add height.

This is no level of comparable, people who did foot binding, broke their foot starting at seven years old or sometimes even younger and wrapped it and had to walk on it, and they would keep breaking the foot and wrapping it and repeating the process until their feet were as small as possible. Wearing heels may be uncomfortable, but most of the time it is a choice and you don’t break your foot to wear them.

I know an elderly woman whose feet are messed up. I asked why and she said it’s because she wore heels often and very late in life. I asked why she didn’t switch to comfortable footwear sooner and she said it’s because her husband liked heels and didn’t like when elderly women wore comfortable shoes for dressy occasions😔

If you wear heels too much your calves will shorten and you can get stuck on your tip toes (if it's bad enough you'll need surgery to fix it)

High heels can cause serious damage to your feet and legs. Not just bunions and sprained ankles, like we’re warned about. You can shorten the ligaments in your ankles until normal shoes feel uncomfortable, or even painful. You can deform your toes. There are a whole mess of problems you can get, but at least they’re pretty 🫠

Why do so many woman act like the makeup, shoes, and clothes they choose to buy and wear are men's fault? YOU choose to wear shoes that hurt your feet, THEY did not get a choice and were forced to reshape their feet as kids. So no its not even close to similar.
