One thing that frustrates me about the NBA is how it often feels like the small market teams exist mainly to help the big-market teams. Every year, the biggest stars seem to get traded away, while smaller teams are left taking on contracts or rebuilding again. It starts to feel more like baseball’s farm system than a league where every franchise has a real chance to compete for a championship. If that’s the way it’s going to be, then what’s the point of having small market teams if they’re just expected to develop talent, dump salaries, and watch their best players leave? And can you believe they’re about to add two more teams?

Hornets are doing what they've always done. Build a team on the cheap with draft picks and 2nd level vets / journeymen. All those draft picks and capital likely won't turn into anything special.
