psychology is not a miracle surgery or drug. it's not designed just to cure. it has other functionalities as well. Like suicide prevention, criminal profiling, etc. it's not a treatment, but also preventative and/or maintenance.

as a psychology student that’s because mental illnesses doesn’t heal easily at all and science is not developed enough yet. even if you combine it with other resources you MIGHT get better results but not complete cure. maybe you should stop expecting complete cure and miracles and focus on living with the illness the best life you can ?
