With what it actually means to build a life with your own two hands. We got busier, but not better. More connected online, but lonelier in real life. More informed, but less rooted. More comfortable, but somehow less fulfilled. There was a time when people knew their neighbors. Family reunions were a thing. They knew where their food came from. They knew the value of land, hard work, quiet mornings, and sitting on a porch without needing to be entertained. I don’t think the answer is to go backward. But I do think a lot of us are being pulled back toward something more real. A little more land. A little more freedom. A little more self-reliance. A little more community. A little more peace.
