So why is it that there aren’t two touches on the graph? Because the first touch was by Croatia and the second touch was done by Portugal, but yet they only show one touch being made….. call bs

Harun Hermas :
The argument is that the Croatian player only touched it with his hair and since ball speeds and trajectory hasn’t moved after he touched it with his hair it shouldn’t be offside because fifa rule sais hair touch dosent count as playing the ball if it’s mouvement isn’t affected

If it’s touched only by hair (and he’s got short hair anyway) it’s not considered as a touch, unless it’s changed the direction in any way. As a referee you should read and understand that rule.

This is not correct. FIFA rules state that hair touch can keep offside activated if ball chamges direction, spin etc.... Otherwise, minimal touch by the hair where ball direction stays unchanged does not count as new action and activates new offside trap. In that order, this goal should stand

So we just have to believe that the spike is Croatia 20. But not the second touch? Because if there was 2 players that touched the ball there should be 2 spikes? Explain that???

I like how a touch by Croatia is considered intentional, but when the Portugal player deliberately brought his head down to hit the ball with his head INSTEAD OF HIS CROTCH is considered unintentional. Make it make sense.

Antonio :
You cannot call that a touch, because trajectory of the ball was unchanged
About sensor, no one knows how many times they zoomed in on the graph to make this kind of "contact" visible
If the ball can "feel" touch of a hair, then sensors are to sensitive for the game like footbal is

I’m an engineer by trade, please tell me about this miracle sensor that gets kicked around for 90 minutes but yet has the sensitivity to accurately sense a strand of hair.

The problem is that you can’t be sure that the hair that was touching the ball was still on his head. It could have been a fly for that matter. It just isn’t clear. So it was a wrong decision!

From fifa Can a player's haircut be considered for offside?
Hair is only considered part of the body if it affects the movement or trajectory of the ball. This is only likely in cases of significant contact with a mass of hair, such as a top knot.

Excerpt from the rules: FIFA also clarified the rule on contact with hair, stating that hair can only be considered part of the body if it significantly affects the movement of the ball, for example in cases of pronounced contact with a large amount of hair, such as a bun.

Random dude :
What i don’t understand is if they both touched it why is there no other spike on the sensor, the sensor has the original pass a touch and then the “offside” touch there’s no second touch

That BBQ Guy :
Can you explain why the hair of the attacker triggers the sensor but the head deflection from the defender doesn’t trigger? The graph only shows one clear spike yet apparently there were 2. And we can only see one
