@sonyadolguinacpa: Replying to @Jenn should you get life insurance in Canada? And what factors do you need to consider when determining what type of insurance to get? #canada #financialliteracy #lifeinsurance #cpa #estate
The appropriate amount of whole life at a young healthy age is a decent investment. Especially if you’ve managed to keep up with your TFSA room. Problem is some many shady salesmen will sell it to people 40-50 plus who fall for the tax free pitch

Life insurance is useless. Cuz at a certain age it expires. The coverage is gone and all the premiums you paid are also gone. It’s better to invest steadily over time and grow your wealth.

Term>perm and invest the rest. Unless you’ve got buckets of money in a Corp 👌🏼

we have a hybrid too Universal Life. cheaper than whole life, better returns than whole life. not as easy to use for borrowing. Term is the right call for most.

I bought a large policy near retirement to shelter my estate from a huge tax hit.

As a licensed insurance advisor in all provinces except QC, YK, & NF, it hugely depends on your goals, age, policy options, preferences etc! I usually don’t recommend WL to those that don’t have other plans already in place.

if you are self employed the corporation can not open RRSP or TFSA. so you dont have to be HNW. also if you own a business and not all your children can take over your business equally, you need estate liquidity at death.

YES, buying early can make it so affordable! Policies can even cost less than a Netflix subscription 😁
