Just remember every individual is different. While one person has a good transition, other individuals might have completely different outcomes. Many surgeons have little to no understanding of LARS. Be positive and give your body time to adjust.

Love all the advice you gave my reversal was Jan 7 2026 I still get bloated with gas food is better now make to eat normally again I have adjusted my diet to include more food things and took out bad foods avoid a lot of fried food in oil they can be a little hard to handle in the belly my case anyway lol all in all 7 months reversed no flare ups no pains fingers staying crossed ruptured diverticulitis was my cause never knew I had it

I have a question. I have a stoma that was unnecessary since four years and they had told me that the rehearsal surgery would take up to 10 hours. How long was your reversal surgery?

My rectum has been diseased for 30 years, so I was advised against it, there is so much scar tissue, I was told I’m would be incontinent. My stoma came in 2019. I wasn’t willing to risk the continence so I had to accept the bag. I am happy for everybody that can get a successful reversal, but I am also ok with my bag. Good luck!
