@jw_pressroom: The United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention (WGAD) has called for the immediate release of 26 of Jehovah’s Witnesses imprisoned in Russia, concluding that their detention is arbitrary and unlawful and that it reflects a pattern of discrimination against Jehovah’s Witnesses based on their religious beliefs. The panel highlighted the cases of Anna Safronova and Andrey Vlasov as examples of the human cost of these detentions, noting that these and similar imprisonments may indicate a widespread practice of arbitrary deprivation of liberty in Russia.
