i had a group chat i kept "alive" for two years by being the one who always texted first. what got me was realizing my brain treated silence from them as an emergency to fix instead of information to notice, because a nervous system wired for approval reads distance as danger, not data. i recently picked up a book called "for those of you who feel invisible" while trying to solve that issue and there's a part about how chasing costs you the exact energy real connection needs to land when it shows up. i stopped texting first for three weeks straight. two people never noticed. one person finally did, and that's the friendship i actually kept. <3

Ceviche taste better with sandy toes! 🦐 🏖️ Ingredients * 3 lbs raw shrimp, peeled, deveined, and diced into bite-sized pieces * Fresh lime juice (enough to completely cover the shrimp) * Salt and black pepper, to taste * 1 bunch fresh cilantro, chopped * White/light green parts of 1 bunch green onions, sliced * About ¼ cup red onion, finely diced * 3 tomatoes, seeded and diced * 1 English cucumber, seeded and diced * 2 avocados, diced * Valentina Hot Sauce, to taste * Jugo Seasoning Sauce, to taste Directions 1. Place the diced raw shrimp in a large glass or nonreactive bowl. Pour in enough fresh lime juice to completely cover the shrimp. Season with salt and black pepper. 2. Cover and refrigerate for 30–60 minutes, or until the shrimp are opaque and no longer translucent, stirring once or twice so they marinate evenly. 3. While the shrimp marinate, chop the cilantro, green onions, red onion, tomatoes, cucumber, and avocados. 4. Once the shrimp are fully “cooked” by the lime juice, drain off some of the excess lime juice if desired, leaving a little behind to keep the ceviche juicy. 5. Add the cilantro, green onions, red onion, tomatoes, cucumber, and avocados. 6. Season with Valentina Hot Sauce and Jugo Seasoning Sauce to taste. Gently toss everything together until well combined. 7. Refrigerate for another 30 minutes so the flavors can meld. Taste and adjust with more salt, pepper, lime juice, or hot sauce as needed. I forgot peppers but definitely add Serrano or Jalapeños!! Serve chilled with tortilla chips
