19 yrs I called in one time to go to Rangers opening day. I was worried about being fired. Lol. But my company didn’t even mark me being off. They paid me still. I only take off for vacation and used my sick days at end of year.

Due to depleting my PTO, sick leave, and extra 12 points for time off, I resigned from SAIA as it was still inadequate. After using 9 points, I started looking for alternative opportunities, feeling that SAIA was imposing the point system over me and understanding that I needed to have flawless attendance until the points expired after a year.

Not about calling off sick but I worked at FedEx drivers would and could call in for weather. (WI snow linehaul anyway) At Estes driver at least has to attempt to leave.
