I think people romanticize Bob too much in the story of Chris. Bob and Barb were equal parts awful and doomed Chris from the beginning. Bob didn't even bother trying once he began giving up on Chris too, and its remarkably early-on when he gives up too

Chris chan is…. complicated. It’s easy to feel bad, and to recognize that chris was very clearly a mentally ill man who was abused and used by the internet, but it’s also not like he was perfect. A lot of the stuff he did was horrible, but seeing the clips of him as a kid and watching his old video applications for all those completions makes me feel like if some things were done different maybe he could’ve been a better person.

sometimes i wonder what could’ve been done. he had a passion and could’ve easily gone to study for it but with the hoarding and the parents, it was just bound to fail unfortunately. it’s just sad :( i wish the world helped him more while it could.
