People don't usually judge ALL straight men because SOME of them date much younger women. If someone is judging ALL gay men because SOME of them are dating much younger men, that's homophobia. If a gay man doesn't like "the gay community" because of what homophobes think of them, that's internalized homophobia. If you have a problem with something other gay people are doing because of how you think it will reflect on you, that's textbook internalized homophobia.

So true. I’m gay but that is just my sexual identity and I have never been able to relate to the gay community stereotypes. When I came out, I was so afraid my family would reject me (some did) because of what they saw of the gay community in the news, in the streets, etc. Your points are right on and thanks for being a voice I can relate to

Couldn’t agree more. I’ve never aligned with the gay community which is unfortunate. I operate in a very straight industry at a high level and can’t be open about being gay because of these stereotypes and stigma. Wish I could change this
