@rachel.hornibrook: Flapjacks ❤️ my forever favourite easy traybake. These take just 5 minutes to prep & throw into the oven. Our dad was a huge flapjack fan, they were one of his favourite treats ❤️ I made countless batches for him over the years & whenever I bake them now it will forever remind me of him. I kept these plain & simple for ease but you can add chocolate to top if you like. Just add some chocolate buttons to the top when just out of the oven, leave to melt & spread if you would like a chocolate topping. Makes 16 8x8 inch square tin, lined & greased 320g oats 200g butter 150g caster sugar 50g light brown sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract Pinch salt 1 tbsp golden syrup or honey 1 tbsp flour Optional: 100g milk chocolate, melted Flaky sea salt Preheat oven to 170 degrees c fan. Melt the butter in a large pot. Once melted, whisk in the sugars, vanilla, golden syrup. Add in the dry ingredients and stir until well combined. Pack tightly into the prepared tin and bake for approx 16-20 mins until golden brown. Let set for 2-3 hours, slice & enjoy! If you’re using the topping, dip half of each square into melted chocolate and sprinkle with a little salt.
