I know Austin framing his dad was one of the hardest choices he ever made, and after that moment, it really showed how much pressure he was under. Georgia was scared seeing how easily Austin could be pulled into situations like that, and it also raised the fear of him carrying too much emotional weight for his age. What makes it even more painful is how Austin gets stuck between everything his mom, his dad, and all the adults’ decisions. On one side, he’s trying to protect Georgia, and on the other, he’s dealing with an abusive father who manipulates him emotionally. Even though Gil can act like a “fun dad” with ice cream and hockey, the audience knows there’s a much darker side to him. That’s why Austin choosing his mom feels understandable, even if it was a heavy decision for a child to make. As for the adults, season 3 really showed everyone at their worst. I understand Paul was hurt and had his breaking point with Georgia, but he still showed moments of care and connection. Zion, on the other hand, letting Gil influence him and the situation escalate felt like a major turning point that’s hard to justify, especially given how much damage it caused. And Ginny’s relationship with her dad is complicated too she wants him in her life, but trust was rebuilt very quickly, which feels rushed considering everything that happened. At the end of all of this, the one thing that stands out most is Austin. He’s the one caught in the middle of adult chaos, and I just really hope he’s okay after everything he’s been through.
