I’m such a weird mix. Like I agree that logically breast milk is factually better than formula. However, if a mom can’t handle breastfeeding scrap it! It’s HARD! It’s exhausting. And most of us don’t have the help we are meant to have.

My lactation consultant made a bottle of formula for my son and fed him when I realized I was an underproducer. She smiled at him and said “See? He’s eating. He’s happy. That’s what’s important.”

Breastfeeding pushed me harder into my PPD and PPA. I could only do it for 6 months and every time I talk to someone who is going through the same, I always tell them to just stop

honestly its not even always for mental health i tried to breast feeding but I am a really bad underproducer so I had to switch to formula to do what's best for my baby.

I became a better mom and person the day I decided (finally decided, it took alot of back and forth with myself) to switch to formula. We can’t take care of our babies unless we take care of ourselves

Formula was the only option for my son and me between my PPD and him not gaining weight despite me being an overproducer. Turns out I wasn't producing an enzyme he needed to properly absorb nutrients from it and he had a sensitive stomach! Formula saved both of us!

I mean he got a month of milk when he was in the Nicu and I feel like that was more important 😭 I couldn’t keep up with him and his tongue tie made him hate breastfeeding…
