my husband has left me in pretty much every city we have ever travelled to. I now always make sure I have an emergency fund and the name of the hotel and the key. its much easier now I can pay using my phone but I was once stranded in Auckland 14 years ago without money for a taxi to the hotel. No google maps on my phone. and no i have no idea why I am still married to him. I dont want to be but that's another story.

I don't understand how one could be this cruel. I can be angry with someone and look out for their wellbeing at the same time. And I'd feel I had a responsibility to make sure she's okay during her stay. It takes a lot to keep me from my sleep, but this would keep me up.

As a solo female traveler, always plan for the worst. If everything runs smooth, great. But that one time it doesn't, you will have already made contingency plans to help out. Stay safe and protect yourself.

Quite literally happened to me in Paris a few weeks ago. My bf moved to Europe a few months back we broke up a few days into him being there. I was visiting France for work, and I begged my him to come visit me because I hate being alone. I paid 500€ for his train ticket and he decided to tell me an hour after the train left that he didn’t get on. Didn’t answer the phone, didn’t text me, and it was my birthday. He “lost his luggage”. I was terrified and did the whole trip solo.

It’s really important you made this video. No one thinks it will happen to them until it does. I went on a third date with a guy and awkward moment when I was going to take the train home but he wanted to drive me home. I told him I never do this, I never get into a strangers car. He was shocked! He said I’m not a stranger you know me. He asked me if I wanted to tell my friend where we were and when we were expected to be at my home and I liked that. The next time we spoke he called me to apologize and said he didn’t think about what my lived experiences were and he was offering because it was late. Green flag for him!

My husband always greets me with flowers and gets taxi waiting at the exit when I travel alone. If we’re travelling together - takes my hand and leads me everywhere we need to go. Married for 7 years. He would NEVER leave me stranded anywhere. He really treats me like a queen and I reciprocate ❤️

I met my ex online and traveled to the USA to see him. I booked my own hotel, looked up local taxi companies and saved the number of my local consulate to my phone. I also looked up other things like public transport and places we could meet publicly first. Always be prepared.

Today my boyfriend and I were supposed to go to Berlin with a friend of his on a vacation. And this whole week beforehand we were both volunteers at a festival. I have a chronic illness and I’m not doing so well right now my tests are super low. But I still worked my ass off at this festival even when I didn’t feel so well. And yesterday was the last day. So yesterday he brought me home and I was so exhausted. So I told him and asked if he could maybe pick me up at my house so I could rest after this exhausting week for me. in the morning to leave and go to Berlin. (which is 15 min driving from his house) But he wanted me to sleep at his house. So he made a whole thing about this that he could not pick me up and that I was a narcissist and that I only think about myself. So eventually I said to him that I didn’t want to go on this vacation anymore because he was so mean to me. So I went to sleep and he said if I changed my mind that I needed to text him before 4 AM if I still wanted to go. So i said to him that I didn’t think that I would change my mind because there just was to much drama beforehand. So this morning he went to Berlin with his friend without me. Which was completely fine because I didn’t want to go anymore because he didn’t respect my needs and boundaries at all. But when he finally arrived in Berlin. He said that he would like me to be there because he misses me. And said that I need to take a train to Berlin alone with all my baggage. (Which is 6 hours in total) so I said to him that I don’t think that’s a good idea because we are in a fight, and I’m not feeling well. And I also didn’t sleep this night because of this drama. So I said that I didn’t want to go on a train all alone. In a city I don’t know and because I depend on him. And I would arrive at like 2 AM in the night. But he doesn’t understand why I don’t want to that. I don’t know if I am crazy or not but it just doesn’t feel very safe to me.
