in context, Gojo essentially died to an attack he didn't know would bypass infinity. The only hint he got was Mahoraga doing the same thing prior, there was no way for Gojo to know that Sukuna got WCS during that moment. Sukuna himself said it was near impossible to get. Infinity also rendered most if not all of Sukuna's kit useless. And people taking his statement about Meguna without 10s beating him is just blatant misinformation, since it literally says "He's not sure" (in most translations). this proves that character statements aren't always reliable.
