Mexico is hosting the World Cup. They obviously have an advantage, that’s how it works.

Fair doesn’t mean every venue has identical conditions. Fair means both teams play under the same rules and know the conditions in advance. Every sport has venues that favor certain strengths heat, humidity, altitude, cold, technical tracks or difficult courses. Preparing for those conditions is part of elite competition, not evidence that the competition is unfair.

It's true that playing in Mexico City gives Mexico an advantage because of the altitude. Denying that would be inaccurate. But that doesn't make it unfair.
A World Cup is played in different countries, and every host nation offers unique conditions: altitude, heat, humidity, cold weather, long travel distances, or the support of the home crowd. Adapting to those conditions is part of competing at the highest level.
The teams know the host cities years in advance and have plenty of time to prepare. That's what elite athletes are expected to do.
A World Cup isn't about playing wherever every team feels most comfortable. It's about proving you can compete anywhere in the world.
