The bread is sweet because it has a molasses base. A lot of brown bread recipes in the US developed with molasses when the country was being settled.

You have to understand that Cheesecake Factory is a publicly traded company and incredibly marketing savvy. Their portion sizes are intentionally oversized. Why? They always position their restaurants within a mall or high traffic shopping area, so when you leave the restaurant with leftovers, you’re actually a walking billboard for their restaurant.
