Update: Rescued. 🚨BENJAMIN IS SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA TODAY JUNE 30 at 2PM. DEVORE SHELTER. 🚨 In the farthest, quietest corner of the shelter—past the loud dogs, the foot traffic, the daily routine—sits Benjamin. A beautiful tan and white pittie mix with kind eyes and a wagging tail, still hopeful despite everything. He’s out of sight, and for too long, he’s been out of mind. When I visited just two days ago, Benjamin came right to the front of his kennel, tail wagging, desperate for connection. He looked at me like he was asking, “Did someone finally come for me?” He had a mild upper respiratory cold—nothing serious, just the kind of illness dogs often pick up in shelters. He was still alert, still bright, still fighting to be noticed. But the truth is: no has come. No one even really knows he’s there. And now, because of a treatable illness and a lack of space, Benjamin is scheduled to be euthanized today at 2 PM. Not for behavior. Not because he’s shut down. Not because he gave up. But because no one saw him in time. This is what happens when good dogs are hidden in back corners. This is what happens when shelters are overwhelmed. Benjamin is going to lose his life over a cold, simply because no one knew he needed saving. Please—share Benjamin. Tag a rescue. Ask yourself if you have room to foster, or if you know someone who does. This boy wants to live. We just have to let him be seen. #A823865 ______________ San Bernardino, CA 92407 📞 Phone: (909) 386-9820 📧 Rescue Email: SBAC.Rescue@dph.sbcounty.gov 🕘 Hours: • Mon–Tue, Thu–Fri: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM • Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM • Sat–Sun: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
