@history.archives: The Incredible Sound of the German Tiger I. The Tiger I was Germany's most feared heavy tank of the Second World War. Introduced in 1942, it carried the devastating 88 mm KwK 36 gun, capable of destroying many Allied tanks at long range. Its thick armour made it incredibly difficult to penetrate from the front. However, the Tiger had major drawbacks. It was extremely expensive, mechanically unreliable, consumed huge amounts of fuel, and only around 1,350 were ever built. Despite its legendary reputation, it was too few in number to change the outcome of the war, where reliability and mass production proved more important than individual battlefield superiority. #WW2 #History #tank #Panzer #MilitaryHistory

also came in Tank Destroyer variant. Jagtiger. for when you need to hit the sherman, on the other side of the building.

Chuck ⚡︎ ⚡︎ :

If they just invested more in advancing the mark IV and its production they could’ve kept pace w Soviet manufacturing instead of investing in these hard hitters. Tigers were to much imo

They still lost the war despite those tanks

Cayden Johnson :

Tigers were definitely better and the tigers did not even break down as much as people say while Russian tanks are struggling to barely change gears
