I am proud to take public transit to work, eat from lunchbox, drive old beat up cars, wear clearance clothes and buy only sale items. Today, retired at 52, and have been to 35+ countries, I am happy to do nothing everyday.

Lol I don't think she is correct about EVERYONE. People who are earning well, saving, and "living it up"(according to her) might actually be living frugally (according to their affordability). I know that because I am that. We net (after taxes) on salaried jobs, roughly around $200k. It is not a lot of money, but it is enough for us to spend $15k on a vacation, have a good nest egg planned and funded, get our remodels in, and eat at "fancy"(as per her) restaurants. We are in zero debt. and this is the reality for A LOT of our friends. Sure a lot of people out there are broke as well and in debt as well. but just because you can't afford a lifestyle doesn't mean you put everyone in that category. not everyone doing their thing is doing it while in debt.
