My husband is a quadriplegic. I'm his caregiver 24/7. Unless someone has been in your shoes, they shouldn't judge. This is the hardest job anyone can have. You do what is right for you and your family.

Praying they get the house done as soon as they can so he can come home bc I know that feeling of trying to let go and let someone else do it. I’m a caregiver as well and I’m not arrogant but I don’t think anyone does it like I do. I always say I take care of somehow how I would want to be taken care of 💗 you are doing amazing don’t let anyone tell you differently!

I care for my husband who is aC6-7 quad and find other spouses videos to helpful- I enjoy hearing and seeing so many new ideas from someone who understands! Kuddos to you and your husband- it’s been a huge change for both of you! (26 years here!)

Being a full time caregiver is so hard! Please also remember to try and take care of yourself as well! Iwork in a nursing home in a small rural town and we have patients like your husband here and it's alarming that you could only find one nursing home that could take him in a big city like Atlanta! We have respite stays at our facility all the time!

Give yourself grace and take some time for yourself, especially now that you may be able to while your husband is being cared for at the nursing home. You are an amazing wife and mom, you are human.

you should never explain to.anyone. I run nursing homes and I see families not even show up to visit, not bring clothes or any personal items. your doing amazing work bc not many people would do what your doing. stay strong, your not doing anything wrong and don't let these people affect you. prayers for your family

no, they don't understand! I was in your shoes years ago with my husband. he was diabetic, he lost limbs and was on kidney dialysis, among other things. I was raising our 5 year by myself plus take care of him, and work a full time job. It took a toll on me. my husband actually sign himself into a nursing home.
