Built by the automotive wizards at Timeless Kustoms in California, this isn't just a restored classic; it is a ground-up, million-dollar hypercar reinterpretation that pushes the absolute limits of street-legal performance. The Origin Story: Building a Monster The project started with a simple yet ambitious goal: build a Mustang that could comfortably cruise the streets but completely decimate modern supercars on a track. • Stripping the Legend: Timeless Kustoms started with a real 1965 Mustang Fastback roofline, but almost everything else was cut away. • The Racing Skeleton: The team welded the remaining body to a custom Art Morrison multi-link chassis, effectively giving the vintage car the handling dynamics of a modern race car. • Going Wide: To fit massive tires for grip, they fabricated a custom metal widebody kit, widening the car by several inches. • The Evil Evolution (Vicious 2.0): Originally debuted in a matte gray finish at SEMA, the car later evolved into the version seen today. It received a sinister, mirror-like gloss black paint job with subtle red racing stripes, alongside an ultra-lightweight carbon fiber hood and trunk. The Heart of the Beast: Triple-Charged Madness The defining feature of "Vicious" lives under its massive, custom-vented hood. While most builders choose between a supercharger or a turbocharger, Timeless Kustoms chose both. The car utilizes a twin-charged setup built around a 5.1-liter Ford Aluminator "Coyote" V8 engine. At lower RPMs, a massive Magnuson TVS supercharger provides instant, lag-free torque. As the engine revs higher, two massive Precision turbochargers take over, compressing the air even further to unleash a tidal wave of top-end power, resulting in a mind-blowing 1,000+ horsepower sent straight to the rear wheels. The Raw Engineering Underneath To handle that level of absolute violence, every mechanical component had to be state-of-the-art: • The Drivetrain: Power is managed via an EMCO 6-speed sequential manual transmission, allowing the driver to bang through gears instantly using steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. • The Footwork: It rides on a sophisticated Art Morrison independent rear suspension setup with Corvette C7-based front components. • The Grip: Massive Kumho Ecsta V720 tires (305mm wide in the front and a ridiculous 355mm in the rear) are wrapped around center-lock wheels to keep the car glued to the tarmac. • The Stopping Power: Halting a 1,000-horsepower missile requires serious hardware, which comes in the form of massive Brembo 15.5-inch carbon-ceramic brake discs with 6-piston calipers in the front. A Cabin Dipped in Crimson Step inside, and the vintage 1965 vibe completely disappears. The entire cockpit is upholstered in striking, high-contrast bright red leather. Drivers are held in place by Sparco carbon-fiber racing seats and a DJ Safety harness. Instead of traditional analog gauges, a Motec digital color display monitors the engine's vitals, while an intricate chrome-moly roll cage protects the occupants from the massive forces this car can generate. Estimated to be worth well over $1,000,000, "Vicious" stands as a masterclass in extreme restomodding.
