The thing is, when you say it's not left vs right it's up vs down, you're essentially saying the same thing twice. Conservatives want to conserve the status quo that is Capitalism while Socialists and Communists want to progress past the Capitalist system. This, in a sense, means ooking at the issue as left vs right or down vs up are essentially the same thing but with different terminology.

i knew i was probably a leftist when hilary and trump we’re fighting for office and hearing my family absolutely rip down on her just for being a woman and having different ideas. do i think she should’ve been president no. i wished so fucking badly that there were other options at the time and somehow we could’ve sat there and said yk what guys.. i don’t think this man should be trying this hard for this if he was for the greater good honestly. because if you look at it, the “good” presidents (because none of them lead a perfect system) they didn’t fight how those two fought or how biden and trump fought or how trump and kamala fought. they said their peace and left it to the people to decide. i’ve never understood the hatred that trump has brought to every election and somehow people still could see him as a greater person. the only thing that made him win those elections in my OPINION, is because he was sadly somehow a better choice. the fact that he gaslit every single person working for him and around them, and then the people. i think a lot of it was rigged yes. but at the same time i truly believe there’s always been more “republicans” who don’t have any single brain cell that can let them see past people straight forward lies. and seeing that in some of my family was just crazy to me and truly made me realize i was different.

I consider myself a leftist, and I can speak to the horrors of capitalism, but I don't know if everything you talk about keys perfectly. I find myself critical of democracy, because though I definitely believe that common people should be in control, I also believe that common people are not fit to answer questions of expertise. How does an expert manage to convey importance in the form of action when that issue can't be easily addressed in terms without expertise? Regarding democracy, how do we ensure minority issues are valued if majority consensus is against those ideas?

my biggest frustration is the people who want to say it is up vs down and not be willing to give up the bigotry that the "up" has pushed towards them. I know change can be hard, but they need to see these as the wedges they are
