Mine did the same thing, put a new hour meter on it, and it don’t work either. The gas gauge meter part works!

FYI, JD runs the ignition circuit through the hour meter so people won't disconnect it to keep hours from accumulating. If u unplug the hour meter, it won't start. Also it's a unique meter in that it senses a signal that comes from (yes, from) the coil kill wire. It does not use the presence or absence of 12V.

Im on my third hour meter Bad Boy Maverick HD, I have around 60 hours on the machine. My latest hour meter is from Amazon that a lot of people claimed was the best out there. 🤷🏼♂️
