@ilovetheused: Millencolin is a seminal Swedish punk rock and skate punk band formed in 1992 in Örebro, Sweden. Known for their high-energy sound, melodic hooks, and skateboarding roots, the band rose to international fame in the late 90s and 2000s, becoming one of Europe's most enduring punk acts. Formed: October 12, 1992, in Örebro, Sweden. Origin of Name: Derived from "melancholy," a difficult skateboard trick (a backside air grab). Members: The lineup has remained remarkably stable since early 1993:Nikola Šarčević (Lead Vocals, Bass)Mathias Färm (Guitar)Erik Ohlsson (Guitar)Fredrik Larzon (Drums)Musical Evolution & Legacy: Millencolin started as a fast-paced skate-punk and ska-punk outfit, heavily influenced by Southern California bands like Bad Religion and Pennywise. Their first EPs (later compiled into The Melancholy Collection) and early albums like Life on a Plate (1995) made them a staple in the European and international punk scene. In 2000, they released Pennybridge Pioneers, widely considered their magnum opus and a staple of the pop-punk/skate-punk genre. Recorded in California and produced by Bad Religion's Brett Gurewitz, this record featured tracks like "No Cigar", which gained massive popularity after being featured on the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 video game soundtrack.Throughout the 2000s, the band experimented with alternative rock on albums like Home from Home (2002) and Machine 15 (2008). However, in later years, they returned to their aggressive, classic punk roots with critically acclaimed albums like True Brew (2015) and SOS (2019). #skatepunk #millencolin #poppunk #music #band
