I think I get what you mean. it's like a good number of people who had so much fun waiting for GTA6 are not gonna be as happy as they think they would be when they get their hands on the actual game, not because the game is bad, but because this period of anticipation, looking forward to it, dreaming and fantasizing about what it could be, especially for something unattainable, felt so good to them. The moment they get it, it loses its value.

loved how you expressed this idea in the video! it reminded me of this one time that my ex and I talked about this topic for hours until we came to a conclusion that, at that moment, was something like: "Maybe we just want the feeling we imagine we'll have when we get what we've always dreamed of because it fulfils specific needs within us which can also mean that anything can be what we want if it is fulfilling that specific need in our lives... like, the difference between wanting to have a big family and being a famous singer doesn't really matter because both are about trying to fulfill something that is emotionally lacking in your life, but what if there are other ways of meeting that need and feeling what you want to feel? maybe you can achieve a certain emotional fulfillment with or without the thing that you "most want/desire in your life". and I like that conclusion, it helps me to deal with the expectations for future me in some ways idk... like how can I apply that in life? Still figuring out if it works like that or not lol bc I don't think it comes naturally to think that way anyways, it feels like a mental trick or something, it's weird
