if you take off in a drone, inside a car, then drive from Pittsbrugh to Ocean City, guess what, the drone will just stay hovering in your car, staying relative to car, regaurdless... so your living experience is wrong, lol.

If you have a very long pendulum swinging it stays swinging in the same direction as the earth spins, you can physically see this happening.

I think the problem is you're treating motion like it has to be constantly "powered." That's not how motion works. If you're riding in a car at 70 mph and toss your keys straight up, they don't fly into the back seat. They already have the car's forward speed. A helicopter works the same way. It already has the Earth's eastward motion before it ever leaves the ground, so hovering doesn't make it stop moving with the Earth.

Relative motion is an important thing to understand. Saying that a plane wouldn’t be able to fly from LA to NY if Earth were rotating is like saying you wouldn’t be able to walk from the back of a train to the front if it were moving
