I saw some artist say that they were losing out on money this anime expo cause of how crowded the alley was. People standing in front of booths for 20-30 min and not buying anything detoured buying custom for waiting for artist. Not to mention some people not being able to get into artist alley at all. AX really needs to cap tickets because it’s ridiculous that you could barely do anything even if you two hours early 😭😭😭😭

I agree!!! Last year and 2024 were so fun, it’s always really crowded but this year is unbearable. I also really hate how all the exits and entrances are. It’s so annoying, and just makes everything so hectic. Especially in the heat and high uv, it’s awful. I always look forward to ax, but I’m reconsidering for next year :(

I’m with you! I went today and I haven’t gone to ax since 2018 and wow it was so packed and hated waiting in line to scan in to get anywhere, it was defiantly over sold

That’s how they run the lines at PAX. They’ll cap them off and tell you when to check back. PAX has been run like that for over 10 years so idk why AX can’t adapt. Like ??? It ain’t that hard bro.

AX staffer used to be run by fellow anime con fans , especially the line police/staffers, now it’s all corporate external agency run, security, programming, scheduling, Artist alley, everything, all lame now. A big difference when it is now by people who are not fans nor con goers.

This year was so disappointing. They really need to rent an arena and hire staff. There was zero signage, the “maps” weren’t helpful and in two days I couldn’t find a single staff member to talk to! It’s NEVER been this bad.
