I love love love the King of Scars duology!!! But that might just be because im a massive fan of the S&B trilogy which you need to read in order to understand KoS and just to add another layer to that, for the novella/epilogue some bits might be quite confusing if you haven’t read the Kos duology [smile]

King of Scars, YES, YES! Nina is my favorite fictional character period, and it is also due to the continuation of her arc in those books. Keeping your expectations low for reading Shadow & Bone because they're not as spectacular as SOC but still sufficiently good, I do recommend reading them TO jump into King of Scars, it is so worth it to see the arcs of Nina, Nikolai and Zoya. Zoya is my 2nd fave character. King of Scars also expands on the world building in a way that amazed and is not done in either S&B or SOC, the Grishaverse overall is so worth it including S&B (just keeping in mind that is the weakest part of it)
