clearly a man. mentioning wanting financial security and prenup = totally fine. but flaunting wealth and using it to attract an otherwise higher standard partner, while obsessing over preventing that partner from benefiting from wealth even to the point of a potential future divorce is red pill, women hating behaviour. if you don't want people using you for your wealth then SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT IT and find a partner based on your other merits

Male; comes off sounding like he’s looking for an employee rather than a life partner

This sounds like a man who has an out of proportion opinion on his financial situation and what he brings to the table.

Wants to use money to attract but not provide partner security. Either gender, they're unappealing.

This sounds like a man and the worst kind: the one who wants to use his money to attract a woman but then doesn’t want to share any of that money with her… 🙃

Sounds stereotypically male. The words “As shallow as it sounds, I do want my prospects to know my financial status. But I also struggle…”

Male. He thinks his finances will attract a “higher quality” spouse. Seems like they view their spouse as an object. Probably seeking someone better looking than them.

In terms of pre-nups, I was against them when I was younger. They seemed unromantic and cold, and anticipating an end to the relationship. But one comment changed my perspective entirely. Everyone already has a pre-nup when they get married, it's just written by the state setting the rules for when a marriage dissolves. If you want more say in what the rules are, you can write your own agreement. Otherwise, the state's rules apply.

Male, sounds exactly like how rich men talk about dating. It’s also a commonly known that men are deterred by women that are high earning so I think it’s unlikely the person is female

Sounds like a man. If this is a woman it would be surprising that she wouldn’t be concerned that being high earning would be off putting and “may attract a high quality spouse”. Gold digger concerns from a woman I think would sound different.

What an absolutely ridiculous sentiment of wanting to attract a woman with his finances, and also not wanting to actually share… 💀 Realistically, he just wants to be seen as a high value man, and he wants women to be with him because he’s so “valuable”, except he does not want to share that value, which immediately shows that he is providing less than no value to a woman. Men who prioritize themselves will NEVER be worth dating or marrying. He is really showing the type of man he is, and it’s not even a net neutral to date or partner with men like this, they suck all the life and energy out of the woman until she’s 100x worse off than she would have been without ever dating him. This is one of those situations where it’s all risk and no reward for the woman, and it’s never worth it!! Prenups are great, but that’s not relevant to the actual root of the problem in this situation. A man who resource guards for himself is not capable of ever truly being a great partner or a stable partner. The only stable thing you can rely on is him looking out for himself, and constantly viewing his partner as a threat to himself, as opposed to him viewing himself as an actual protector. He’s weak, and honestly women should never date men like this.

This sounds like a man who is in between cultures. Isn’t the Muslim man obligated to provide everything for the wife & children? This person has been exposed to more modern western values and seems caught in the middle

At first glance, it sounds like a man who is concerned about gold diggers. However, I still think this might actually be a woman, just from the way it's described - long-winded explanation, slightly apologetic for sounding shallow, and also the mention of financial independence (iirc). Men can be gold diggers just as much as women can, and I bet that a high-earning woman comes with experience of a previous boyfriend trying to spend her money on nice things fof himself, so this would be a totally valid concern for her to have. I say woman, just to be the odd one out.
