fyi The HikeTrailhead: Located off Highway 1 in Big Sur, offering about 72-hour parking.Distance: 6 miles round-trip (out-and-back).Elevation Gain: Approximately 2,500 to 3,000 feet.Difficulty: Rated as Hard. The trail is relentless, with extremely steep switchbacks and very little shade.Camping & LogisticsPermits: No permits or reservations are required. It operates on a first-come, first-served basis, and campsites can get highly crowded during holiday weekends.Water Availability: There is absolutely no water at the top.
