@flamingeauxx: story time: True precocious puberty affects approximately 0.2% of girls and 1% of the US population. I was diagnosed in early third grade. Precocious puberty means your body matures faster than others. This meant I had to get an implant in my arm to stunt my growth. I also had to check my bone age with my endocrinologist often but that was pretty interesting to see. I think the scariest part of it was getting blood drawn and the fear of feeling and looking different from others. I got my implant in 2023 and in January 2026 I got it surgically taken out. The hardest part about that was the IV. Now that I’m almost 13 I realize now that when I was 9 it didn’t define me and i shouldn’t have been so worried on how I looked.
