Sad to say but even the newest GPT model can't beat Claude 4.8. It makes so many mistakes or unplanned changes that I don't care that it uses less tokens when I need to spend the same amount I just used, to fix all the issues. And for both projects (one with Claude, another one with GPT) I have a proper MD file with rules that cover almost the same rules and GPT keeps ignoring them much more often. I'm not saying Claude is ideal because I often have to fix a lot of things to match how we write code in our project, cleanup test cases but it's much better than what GPT leaves me with
