@zack_tm7: Apple's Life saving feature. When Apple introduced Crash Detection with the iPhone 14 lineup in September 2022, it marked a major step forward in smartphone safety. Using a combination of a high-g accelerometer, gyroscope, GPS, barometer, microphone, and advanced machine learning, Crash Detection is designed to recognize severe car crashes, including front, side, and rear-end impacts as well as rollovers. If a serious collision is detected and the user does not respond, the iPhone automatically contacts emergency services, shares the user’s location, and notifies their emergency contacts. The feature was developed using over one million hours of real-world driving and crash data to improve accuracy and reduce false alerts. Today, Crash Detection is available on all iPhone 14 models and every newer iPhone, including the iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max, iPhone 15 series, iPhone 16 series, and iPhone 17 series.
