Severe period pain is not something I think we should simply dismiss as “just part of having a period.” And this is still something we see far too often. When someone is experiencing significant uterine or pelvic pain, the first question is: why? Endometriosis is one possible cause, but it isn’t the only one. Adenomyosis, fibroids, pelvic floor dysfunction and other gynaecological conditions can contribute to pain and need appropriate investigation. From a naturopathic perspective, we also look at the broader clinical picture. What does the menstrual cycle look like? Is the bleeding heavy? When does the pain occur? What are the inflammatory drivers? Are there bowel symptoms? What is happening hormonally? Are there nutritional deficiencies or other factors potentially contributing to the presentation? And importantly, naturopathic treatment should sit alongside appropriate medical investigation, not replace it. This is an older video of mine, but the message is one I still strongly believe in: significant period pain deserves to be properly investigated and treated. If painful periods, endometriosis or other menstrual concerns are affecting your life, Mel and Danielle work extensively with fertility, endometriosis, menstrual cycles and reproductive health at Nourishing Apothecary. DM me the word CLINIC and we’ll send you the link to book a FREE Discovery Call so we can learn more about what’s going on and help match you with the right practitioner. Consultations are available via Zoom Australia wide. Visit nourishingapothecary.com #periodpain #endometriosis #adenomyosis #painfulperiods #womenshealth
