I used to cook these amazing meals when I had housemates because I loved the idea of someone else enjoying them. Looking back, it was almost as if I was only cooking for them. When I lived alone, I rarely made those same dishes for myself. I had to rewire my mindset and realise that I deserve that same care too. I shouldn't need someone else to justify the effort. I can cook beautiful meals simply because I enjoy them, because I deserve to be pleased, and because I should be the first person I nourish with that love.

It’s why I love going to the movies by myself. I get to pick the movies, I get to pick the snacks, I get to pick the seats, I can go to the bathroom whenever I want, I don’t have to pretend I heard what the person next to me said when I really didn’t…it’s perfect.

Facts. I'd go hang out with my parents and its a lot of "can you do this, dont do that, put your phone away, dont text, let's do this and I need you to do that" mind you I ha e a husband and kids I already dont get enough me time.
