Hey everyone, I’m very well a where of my terrible subtitle spelling of chữ Nôm 😂 and my claim on chữ Nôm needing specialists is because Scribes across different eras and regions invented their own character combinations for the same Vietnamese word, so there’s no single “correct” way to write most terms. Secondly, regional and historical variation of Nôm from a 15th-century court document looks very different from Nôm in a 19th-century folk poem or a temple inscription. Finally, Many texts are handwritten, faded, damaged, or in unusual calligraphy, requiring paleographic training beyond just knowing the script😂
