At only two months old, this little stray kitten has already been through more than anyone could imagine. After surviving a difficult eye surgery, we were hoping recovery would finally become a little easier. But on the second day after the operation, the kitten suddenly stopped eating and drinking. Another visit to the clinic confirmed feline panleukopenia. Because only the first vaccine had been given, the kitten hadn't completed its full vaccination schedule yet. The virus was likely already hiding in its body before surgery. Between the anesthesia, the operation, and the stress of healing, its immune system had a much harder time keeping up. Before surgery, the eye had already become badly damaged, and the infection continued getting worse. Waiting wasn't an option anymore. The surgery gave this little one the best chance to recover. Thankfully, this incredibly strong kitten never stopped fighting. Each day brought a little more energy, a little more progress, and it was almost ready to leave the hospital behind. For life after discharge, I chose a reliable foster family here locally instead of arranging transportation to another city. Staying nearby makes it much easier for me to follow the kitten's daily progress and receive updates without delay. The foster family plans to care for the kitten for about two months, and they'll upload everyday videos to our TikTok account so everyone can continue watching this amazing journey toward a brand-new life.
