I have made a few videos about this azelaic acid before, and I still think it's a reasonable option depending on what your expectations are. A creator called Skin Ecologic posted about how there may not actually be much azelaic acid in its free form in this particular azelaic acid because of how the azelaic acid is solubilised into the water. What this means in simple terms = there was speculation that the ANUA azelaic acid from was useless. However, other science creators have since concluded that this is not quite the case. While you can never compare the efficacy of a prescription azelaic acid to a cosmetic one, ANUA is definitely not useless BUT we cannot guarantee they'll be the most efficacious option. More testing is needed. It's a bit of a grey area. Overall, I would still recommend the watery, Korean-style azelaic acid serums for people who are just dipping their toe in the world of azelaic acid, but if you want to guarantee you'll see results you should probably go with a cream formula.
